How a blanket is folded

The deck is 16 cards. Four pastures: Mill, Reed, Salt, and Cloud. Four ribbons: 1 thread, 2 band, 3 sash, 4 prize. Every card is the same alpaca. The pasture is the color. The ribbon is the number.

Two, three, or four seats. The phone passes left, in the order Nell, Owen, Pia, Wes. You may also play the seats yourself, one hand at a time.

• Each seat is dealt the same hand. Keep 1 card, then pass the rest left. Do that until the hand is gone. Those cards are your herd.
• Three cards from one pasture: 2 blankets. Three cards of one ribbon: 2 blankets. One card from each pasture: 2 blankets.
• A run of ribbons 1 2 3, or 2 3 4: 1 blanket. Fold only one agreement. The button tells you the blankets you would have.
• Hold keeps one card for the next round and scores nothing. The rest of the herd goes back to the barn.

First to 3 blankets wins. If two seats reach 3 in the same round, the higher count wins. An even count shares the evening. After 8 rounds, the highest count wins even if no seat has 3.
