A traveler's book. The road stays in this browser.
You are walking a wool load from Low Mill to the Highland Fair with four alpacas. Same face, four ribbons.
Every cost is written on the choice before you take it. Nothing is spent in secret. A choice that walks eats one ration of feed. If the feed is gone, that ration comes out of morale. Looking, without walking, eats nothing.
A hard job leaves an alpaca weary. Ask a weary alpaca to do that work again and they sit. Sitting quiets a talent until you rest them. At the last ridge you can rest, send word, go down without them, or stay together and let the fair wait.
The fair pays on fleece and bales. The mill is steady. The dyer is rich at 70 and poor under it. Linger twice and that keen money cools. Someone on the road may tell you the number.
